This is an exceptional wallpaper covered band box that dates to 1822. The newspaper lined interior is written in Pennsylvania German and has a date of Nov. 4, 1822 as well as reference to Philadelphia. It is covered in muted colors of rose, yellow and black and is in remarkably good condition being very well-made and quite sturdy. There is normal wear in expected places.
